It is always a much talked topic and people have debated over years of how to clinch to almost perfection; nevertheless, we outstretch a generation where there are diverse forms of education. Education gives a vision of hope for a better world.

Free education for poor:

To bridge the gap of the privileged and the underprivileged free education is provided for the poor. With research carried out, the reasons which are stopping education is poverty, unawareness of its benefits, accessibility and many other social issues so awareness programs are done first followed by execution of free education.

Nearly 75% of healthcare infrastructure, medical personnel, and other resources are concentrated in urban locations where only 27% of the population exist. The rural population is impacted by contagious, infectious and waterborne diseases like typhoid, infectious, diarrhoea, measles, tuberculosis, whooping cough, amoebiasis, hepatitis, worm infestations, malaria, respiratory infections, pneumonia, and reproductive tract infections. Again, non-communicable diseases like blindness, cancer, mental disorder, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, hypertension, accidents, and injuries are also increasing.

ROYAL ASSOCIATION FOR EDUCATION AND SOCIAL WELFARE in the urban areas is always seeking better facilities; imagine the plight of the people in rural areas. Is this the GDP measured economic growth that we are so aggressively promoting. If this trend continues, it would challenge democracy as a system of governance and shake the foundations of our constitution. Constantly aspiring for a better quality of life, but the unforgiving reality in rural India is that most adults working in agricultural fields are chronically starved, a significant % of children are permanently stunted from undernutrition, one out of ten babies do not make it past the first year of their life. Many children in rural areas leave school year-on-year because of an illness in the family and they have to work to add to the families income. This cost of hospitalization places the affected families below the poverty line.

4. Community Based Rehabilitation Programme

According to WHO, community-based rehabilitation is a comprehensive strategy for involving people with disabilities in the development of their communities and seeks to ensure that disabled people have equal access to rehabilitation and other services and opportunities-health, education, and income-like all other members of society. Community-based rehabilitation is implemented through the combined efforts of disabled persons themselves, their families, and their communities.

Importance of Community Rehabilitation :

As we know rehabilitation aims to maximize the potential to restore a person who is facing disability or incapacity for work as a result of a severe injury or disease to at least the same physical and mental state, and at least the same social, vocational, and educational status, as that person had before the disability.

The main focus of rehabilitation is on:

5. Orphanage for Destitute/Abandoned Children

In the heart of every child is a hunger for home. Not just for food and a place to sleep, but for safety and community. Most importantly: for love. Within our Orphanage Support Program, we pinpoint children's residences and orphanages on a national level who are in need of extra support.
The objective of welfare services for destitute children is to rehabilitate them as normal citizens in the community they belong to. The programme includes ameliorative services of food, shelter, clothing, medical attention and curative services of education, prevocational and vocational training, vocational guidance, recreation and cultural development and citizenship education. It is an effort to make the children grow up as responsible citizen and job worthy.
Services that is offered to children at the existing institutions is separate for boys and girls and includes physical and social care, school education and recreational activities and near family atmosphere for children between 0 to 18 years with the help of services of house mothers. For children between 12 and 18 years services of physical and social care, school education, prevocational and vocational and citizenship education and recreation is provided at the institutions

7. HIV PREVENTION & CONTROL

With 2.1 million people living with HIV (PLHIV), India ranks 3rd on the global list of HIV Prevalence, next only to South Africa and Nigeria. Unprotected Sex and Low Condom Usage happen to be the driving causes for HIV transmissions, accountable for about 90% of newly infected cases in India.

8. ENVIRONMENT & RURAL DEVELOPMENT

SOIL & WATER CONSERVATION (SWC)

ROYAL ASSOCIATION FOR EDUCATION AND SOCIAL WELFARE primary objectives are mitigating drought, reducing soil erosion, conserving water resources, and increasing groundwater storage. The organisation employs a dynamic project management team with technical expertise to implement SWC measures in a time-bound and goal-oriented manner. Various initiatives include constructing Continuous Contour Trenches (CCTs), bunds, the DOH model, check-dams, de-silting and rejuvenating lakes, and applying nutrient-rich silt on farmers’ fields. These measures help prevent soil erosion, enhance land fertility, and conserve and harvest water for future utilisation.

AFFORESTATION

11. CANCER CARE

Late diagnosis of cancer is one of the most serious challenges for patients and healthcare systems in low and middle income settings. People living in rural areas are particularly vulnerable both from a late diagnosis perspective and from affordability perspective. Whilst there are a range of cost effective interventions to improve early diagnosis through screening and better access to diagnosis there have been few studies on how to put these into place in complex environments. Research to understand the implementation of early diagnosis and screening is essential to adapt these approaches to the unique social, economic, political and health conditions for each country. India is one of the most complex and diverse upper middle income countries where each State reflects the sorts of challenges for implementing early diagnosis programmes seen around the world.

12. CARDIAC HEALTHCARE

Heart diseases in children are more common than most in the world understand or believe them to be. Congenital heart defects (CHD) are the most common major birth defect in the world, one in every 100 children is born with CHD. In 2019 (1,2), there were over 13.3 million people living with CHD in the world and 217,000 people died from CHD and most of the deaths were in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and almost 70% of the deaths were in infants.
We run heart disease awareness campaigns and public events to inform the public about prevention, risk factors, and effective management strategies.
